LOCAL LEGENDS

Jim Teevan founded Teevan Painting in 1963 after graduating from Burlingame High School. He continued managing the company through four years at Yale and another two at the University of Southern California. MBA in hand and a clear set of values in mind, Jim focused on growing the business while giving other Yale and USC students a chance to pay for their educations by working for Teevan.

By 1976 Teevan had painted more than 1000 homes on the Peninsula and gained a following of loyal clients who regularly asked if the Teevan crew could help with other home-maintenance tasks. We responded by broadening our carpentry skills and learning the intricacies of waterproofing and restoration.

BECOMING TODAY’S RESTORATION EXPERTS

In 1978 Teevan established its office in Pacific Heights, where we expanded our service offerings in conjunction with the unique needs of our city clients. Over the next decade we became experts in all areas of general contracting and remodeling. Teevan Painting officially became Teevan Restoration. Our clients started turning to us for projects big and small, and we became known as the city’s expert handler of complex leaks and architectural preservation.

In 1999, Jim began to contemplate retirement and hired his ultimate successor, Ben Ladomirak. With vice president Mihai Nedelcu and a talented team of artisans, craftspeople, and carpenters, Ben led Teevan to its current, unique position as one of the city’s finest building improvement and maintenance specialists.

We are proud of our history and excited about our future. Many of our clients have relied on us for decades as caretakers of their homes and businesses. These relationships both gratify and inspire us, and we look forward to proving worthy of such trust and confidence for decades to come.
